  • Scan a VIN from your phone, before there is any paperwork

A new VIN Scan tile on the phone lets you photograph a vehicle's VIN plate and see what the car is straight away, with no work order, invoice or customer needed first. It also tells you whether your shop has worked on that car before, including who owns it and what you installed. When the customer decides to go ahead, pick the scan from the vehicle box on the estimate, invoice or work order and the details fill in for you, or send it across from the phone. Scans stay in a shop-wide list for seven days, so whoever writes up the job can use a car somebody else scanned in the lot.

  • Photograph a VIN instead of typing it

Technicians can now capture a vehicle's VIN by photographing the plate on a phone, instead of typing seventeen characters into it. Manifold reads the characters and fills in the year, make, model, trim, engine, body style and door count automatically. It asks first before changing any detail you already entered, and the technician confirms the reading against the photo before anything saves. Each vehicle page now also carries the full set of details the VIN reveals.

  • See at a glance who has custom access

An employee whose permissions have been changed from their role's defaults now shows a Custom tag next to their role on the Employee List. That makes it obvious when someone is set up to do more than their role name suggests, such as a salesperson who also works in the bays. Changing an employee's role without also resetting their permissions now warns you that the label changed but their access did not. Permission changes, editing an owner's account, and granting the Owner role are now owner-only.

  • Customer address on work orders

Work orders now show the customer's mailing address, both on screen and on the printed and emailed copy. It sits under their phone and email, so filing a warranty no longer means opening the customer record to look the address up. If a customer record has no address on file, nothing prints for that line.

  • Second technician now saves when creating a work order from an invoice

The Create Work Order screen on an invoice has always offered a Secondary Technician field, but the selection was not being saved, so the job came out with the primary tech only. It now saves correctly. Work orders created from the Work Orders page were never affected, and either technician can still be added or changed later from Edit Details on the work order.

  • Purchase orders now show the brand

Purchase orders now print and email with the brand on every line, which matters most on distributor orders. The second column is now the item description instead of a repeat of the part number, so a line reads brand, part number, then what the item actually is. The purchase order on screen and the order builder match the printed copy.

  • Cancel a work order when a job is called off

Work orders now have a Cancelled status. If a customer calls off a job, open the work order, click Cancel Work Order and add a short reason, and it drops off the Job Board and your open work order list without counting as completed work. Any appointment booked for it is cancelled too, so the bay frees up, and you can reopen it if the customer changes their mind. Deleting an invoice now cancels its linked work order as well, instead of leaving it stranded.

  • Order parts you do not stock, without cluttering your catalog

Special order parts had to be added to your inventory as permanent items before you could put them on a purchase order, which meant a catalog full of things you order once and never again. You can now mark an item as a one-off. It works normally everywhere it counts: it goes on a purchase order with its part number, it receives, and its cost carries into your margins. It is simply kept out of the product search and your Products list, and one checkbox promotes it to a regular item if you decide to start carrying it. Purchase order lines also now show the job and customer they were ordered for, on screen and on the printed order.

  • Back returns you to the page you came from

Opening a work order from the schedule, the job board, or a report and clicking Back used to drop you on the full work order list every time. Back now returns you to the page you were actually on, with your day, your place in the list, and any filters you had set. Invoices and customer records work this way too, and it holds even after you act on the page: start a job or take a payment, click Back, and you still land where you started.

  • Review request links now open correctly

Review request links sent by text or email were showing a "link unavailable" message instead of the review page. The link now opens your shop's review landing page as intended, with your logo, your review buttons, and the private feedback form. The embeddable reviews widget was affected by the same problem and is working again too.

July 2026

  • Work orders print the appointment window and the job description

Printed and emailed work orders now show the appointment's start and end time instead of just the start, so the bay can see the window for the job. The Notes from the linked invoice now print on the work order in their own Job Description box, giving techs a description of the work without opening the invoice. Work orders whose appointment was booked after the ticket was written also show their appointment now; those had been printing with no appointment at all.

  • See which cars are in the shop, and which jobs are posted

The Installation Calendar now uses color to show where each job stands. Appointments turn amber when you mark the vehicle dropped off, and purple once the job's invoice is posted. A gray appointment means the work is finished but the invoice was never posted, which is what keeps a salesperson or installer from being credited on the payout reports. Your dashboard also flags any invoice that has been paid in full for three days without being posted.

  • The schedule remembers the day you were looking at

Looking ahead to a later day on the schedule and opening a job used to drop you back on today when you came back. The calendar now returns you to the day, view, and tab you left, whether you use the Schedule button on the appointment or your browser's back button. Switching between the Installations and Consultations tabs holds your day too, and the Today button still jumps you to the current day.

  • Delete an inventory item you just added by mistake

You can now permanently delete an inventory item, but only if it has never been used anywhere: never on an invoice or estimate, never on a purchase order, never in a package or a physical count, and never received into stock. Open the item and use Delete Forever in the Danger Zone at the bottom of the page. Anything your shop has actually used can still be deactivated, which hides it from sales and product lists while keeping its history intact.

  • Job Board now shows today's work

The Job Board defaults to the jobs that are actually in your shop today, plus anything still open from an earlier day. Work orders booked for a later day are held back until their day comes, with a count at the top of the board and a Today / All open toggle so you can see everything whenever you want. Each card now shows the install date instead of the date the work order was written up, and a job whose scheduled day has already passed is flagged so it does not get lost. The Closed column now shows what you finished today, with the time each job went out and a link across to the full list of closed work orders.

  • "Convert to Invoice" is now "Create Invoice"

The button on an estimate now reads Create Invoice instead of Convert to Invoice. Nothing about how it works has changed; the wording was just misleading. Creating an invoice from an estimate has always left the estimate on file as its own document, marked Won and linked to the new invoice, rather than turning the estimate into the invoice. The new label says what actually happens.

  • Collect payment in full without posting, and editable paid invoices

You can now take a payment covering the full balance without posting the invoice: uncheck "Post invoice now" when collecting, print a zero-balance receipt, and post later from the invoice page. Fully paid but unposted invoices can now be edited, so adding parts on the day of an install works naturally; posted invoices stay locked. Posting now asks for confirmation since it finalizes the sale, and a new Posting behavior setting under Settings, then Payments, lets your shop choose whether full payments post automatically. Button labels were clarified throughout: Save Invoice, Collect Payment, and Post Invoice each say exactly what the click does.

  • Callback tracking now follows job completion

The awaiting-callback phone icon on the schedule now appears only after a job is completed, so scheduled jobs no longer show it early. Closing a work order now automatically marks its appointment completed, including jobs that were booked from the invoice before check-in. Reopening a work order clears the marker unless the customer was already contacted.

  • Split a sale between two salespeople

You can now credit two salespeople on one invoice and set the commission split between them. On the invoice, pick a second salesperson and enter the primary's percentage; the rest goes to the second person. Every salesperson report divides that sale's revenue, profit, and spiffs by the split, while still counting the deal for each person. The split is internal and never prints on the customer's invoice.

  • Cleaner printed reports

Printed and PDF reports now render cleanly. Wide reports like the Invoice Transaction Report print in landscape so their columns no longer overlap, tables begin right under the summary cards instead of on a blank second page, and a few stray symbols on the Drawer Summary now display correctly. There is no change to how you run or export a report.

  • New Invoice Transaction Report

There is a new Invoice Transaction Report under Reports > Accounting. It lists every invoice in a date range grouped by type (retail, dealer, repair, warranty, refund), with materials, labor, misc, subtotal, discount, tax, and total for each, plus per-group and grand totals. Filter by employee, status, and invoice type using the new checkbox dropdowns, and export to CSV or PDF. It makes reconciling a day or a week of sales straightforward.

  • Schedule work orders right on the calendar

Scheduling an install from a work order now opens the calendar in drag-to-book mode, the same way invoices already worked: a banner names the work order, you drag across an open time slot, and a card pops up to set the end time and confirm. Rescheduling any appointment now highlights the one you are moving in amber, so it is easy to spot after the calendar jumps to its day.

  • Bulk edit stock thresholds from the Products list

You can now set Low Stock Threshold and Max Stock Quantity on many products at once from Inventory > Products, alongside the existing Status, Category, and Vendor bulk edits. Filter to the group you want, tick the products (or select everything matching the filter), pick the field, and enter the new number. This makes it much faster to retune reorder levels across a brand or category after an import.

  • Scheduling from dealer invoices, and after payment

You can now schedule an appointment directly from a dealer invoice. Paying an invoice in full no longer removes its Schedule button, so you can take payment at the counter and still book the install afterward. On the new invoice screen the green button now reads Post Invoice when no payment has been added, since posting without a payment simply leaves the invoice open with a balance due.

  • See which customers still need a follow-up call

The schedule now shows which finished jobs still need a follow-up. When a work order closes, its appointment gets an amber phone icon meaning the customer is awaiting a callback. Mark that you reached out by phone or text and it turns into a green check, so the whole team can see who has been contacted and who still needs a call. If you use the automatic vehicle-ready text, it flips the appointment to contacted on its own when it sends.

  • Salesperson Profitability report: status filter and accurate custom-item cost

The Salesperson Profitability report now lets you choose which invoice statuses to include using Posted, Paid, Partial, and Pending checkboxes. It defaults to Posted only, so a payout report shows fully finalized work unless you widen it. We also fixed custom (off-catalog) line items so the cost you enter on the line is counted, which means those items now show real profit instead of 100 percent.

  • New profitability reports for salespeople and installers

Two new payout reports are available under Reports. Salesperson Profitability lists every item each salesperson sold with cost, profit, margin, and spiffs, and Installer Profitability does the same for labor with hours, rate, and profit per installer. Both let you type in a commission rate and see the projected payout calculated on revenue and on profit, so you can settle a pay period from one screen.

  • Bulk manage your packages

You can now activate, deactivate, or delete multiple packages at once from the Packages list. Tick the ones you want (or select them all) and choose an action, instead of opening each package one at a time. Deleting packages, including in bulk, is now controlled by a new Delete and bulk-manage packages permission that owners and store managers have by default; building and editing packages stays open to any user. A bulk delete removes the selected packages and the items inside them, but never changes invoices that already used them.

  • Bulk edit products from the Products list

You can now change a field across many products at once. Filter the Products list to a group, tick the items you want (or select everything matching the filter, across pages), and set their Status, Category, or Vendor in one step. A confirmation shows the exact number of products before anything changes, and every bulk edit is written to your activity log. Available to owners and store managers, and grantable to other users.

  • Refunds now available on Paid invoices

An invoice in the Paid status, where money was collected but the sale was never finalized, can now be refunded through the same linked Refund document used for Posted invoices. It previously fell back to the older in-place refund, which did not create that record. This mainly affects tickets brought over from TSS that were paid off but never posted in your old system.

  • Shop supplies now itemized on invoices, and past invoices stay accurate

Your miscellaneous charge (Shop Supplies at most shops) now prints as its own line on invoices, PDFs, emailed copies, and the public link you send a customer, instead of being folded silently into the subtotal. Saved invoices now show the amount they were actually billed rather than recalculating from today's settings, so changing your shop supplies percentage or your tax rate no longer restates invoices you already finalized. Older invoices billed at a different rate now add up correctly.

  • Discounts no longer ask managers for a password they already had

Anyone with permission to apply discounts was being asked to enter a manager's username and password every time they added a discount line, even though they were already authorized. Office managers and sales managers could not clear that prompt with their own credentials at all and had to track down a store manager. Applying a discount now works directly for anyone who has the permission. Discount limits and the maximum discount percentage are unchanged.

  • Easier to find package delete, now limited to owners and managers

Deleting a package used to be a small link buried at the bottom of the package detail page, and it was missing from the edit screen entirely. Delete Package now appears in a clearly marked Danger Zone at the bottom of both screens. Deleting a package never affects invoices that already used it; those keep their line items. The button is now restricted to owners and managers.

  • Sign-in security check is more reliable

Some users occasionally hit a sign-in page where the "Verify you are human" box never appeared, leaving the Sign In button stuck. The login page now detects when the security check fails to load or comes back from a suspended tab in a dead state, and quietly reloads it on its own. The server is also more forgiving when a sign-in is submitted with an expired or already-used verification token, such as after using the Back button, so those no longer bounce with a verification error.

  • Document emails now guard against unverified from-addresses

Client emails for invoices, estimates, work orders, and purchase orders are sent through your shop's verified sending domain. Previously, the Company Profile let you save a from-address on any domain, which the email provider would then silently reject, so test emails worked but client emails failed. The Company Profile now tells you which domain your from-addresses must use, shows the default sending address that is used when a field is left blank, and stops an invalid address from being saved. If an invalid address does slip through, emailing a document now shows a plain explanation of what to fix instead of a cryptic provider error.

  • Browse categories and vendors from a dropdown on inventory items

Editing an inventory item just got easier. The Category, Brand, Vendor, and Accounting Category fields now have a dropdown arrow you can click to see the full list and pick from it, instead of having to delete the current value and type to search. Typing to filter still works exactly as before, and every list is now sorted alphabetically.

  • Scheduled appointment now prints on the invoice

When an invoice has a scheduled appointment, the printed and emailed invoice now includes an Appointment section showing the date, time, and bay (or salesperson), so the customer leaves with their booking details. The invoice header also shows the time it was created next to the date.

  • Multi-day appointments now schedule and display correctly

Appointments that run into another day (for example, starting at 9:00 AM today and ending at 12:30 PM tomorrow) now appear on every day they span on the schedule, blocking the resource for the full time so a technician is not double-booked. The booking form was also reworked so End Date and End Time sit together, making it clear how to set the finish time on a later day.

  • Create work orders from invoices without a labor line

Work orders are normally created from an invoice only when that invoice has a labor line, since a work order usually tracks install or service labor. There is now an optional setting in Settings > Work Orders that lets you create a work order from any invoice, such as a parts drop-off or a diagnostic check-in where labor gets added later. It is off by default, so nothing changes unless you turn it on.

  • Quicker product entry with type-ahead fields

Adding a product is faster now. The Brand, Vendor, Category, and Accounting Category fields suggest matches as you type, and you can add a new brand, vendor, or category on the fly without leaving the product form. And if you enter a SKU that is already in use (including on a deactivated item), you get a clear warning right away instead of an error after filling in everything else.

  • Cash payments now calculate change

When a customer pays with cash for more than the invoice total, the checkout screen now shows the exact change to hand back and applies only the amount owed. The invoice and the printed receipt keep a record of the cash tendered and the change given, so every cash sale is clear for you and the customer.

  • Faster standalone work order check-in

Creating a work order without an invoice is quicker now. The customer box is a search-as-you-type field instead of one long dropdown, and you can add a brand-new customer or vehicle right on the check-in screen without leaving to set them up first. When adding a vehicle, you can decode a VIN to fill in the year, make, and model.

  • Mark a category as labor

You can now flag a product category as labor with a checkbox on the category screen (Inventory, then Categories). Every product in a labor category posts as a labor line on invoices and estimates, so it follows your labor tax rules and lands on the labor side of your reports; subcategories inherit the setting from their parent. Any category already named Labor was switched on automatically, so nothing changes unless you want it to.

  • Labor items come in ready to use when you import

When you import from TSS, items it lists as Labor, Sublet, or Other are now sorted automatically into matching categories and come in active and ready to use, with nothing for you to set. Because labor items sit in a Labor category, they drop onto new invoices as labor lines on their own. Your physical inventory counts and valuation are unaffected.

  • Filter the products list by status

The Products list now has an Active / Inactive / All filter, so inactive items are easy to find instead of hidden by default. On the Categories page, clicking a category's product count now opens a list showing every product in that category, so the count always matches what you see.

  • Import can tidy up your category list

The TSS import can now consolidate your old category codes. It suggests a clean name for each cryptic code (SPK525, SPK65, and SPK69 all become Speakers), merges codes that share a name, and defaults anything it cannot identify to Miscellaneous for you to sort. You review and edit everything before importing, it is easy to skip entirely, and every product keeps its original code so you can regroup later.

  • TSS import now brings your dealers into Wholesale

When you import from TSS, Manifold now rebuilds your dealer (wholesale) accounts from your job history and files their sales under Wholesale, so your dealer statements, wholesale reports, and dealer aging work right after the import. A step in the import preview lets you pick which dealers come in as active accounts; the rest still import with their full history, just marked inactive. Imported dealer balances are never hit with a finance charge.

  • Choose which employees come over when you import

When you import from TSS you can now choose which employees come across as active staff. Everyone still imports, so your history keeps the name of whoever sold each job, but anyone you don't check arrives inactive: they can't sign in and they stay out of your staff list. Imported invoices are now credited to the salesperson who actually sold them, so your Salesperson reports work on your history instead of crediting everything to whoever ran the import.

  • Customer search and list fixes

Searching a customer's full name now works. Previously "George Glass" found nothing because the search only compared what you typed against first and last names separately, so only half a name ever matched; this affected the customer list, invoices, work orders, payments, and receivables. Names stored as "Glass, George" match too. Sorting the customer and vehicle lists by newest or oldest now works instead of snapping back.

  • Require the fields that matter before an invoice saves

You can now decide what has to be captured before an invoice or estimate can be saved. Under Settings > Invoicing > Required Fields, pick any combination of customer contact details, referral source, and your own custom invoice fields; each one shows how many of your existing customers are missing it before you switch it on. If something is missing, your staff are prompted to fill it in right on the invoice instead of losing their work, and managers can save without it with the reason recorded in the audit log. Typing a customer name that does not exist now offers to create them with the name already filled in.

  • Filter your sales reports by invoice type, status, and salesperson

Daily Sales and Detailed Sales by Salesperson can now be filtered by invoice type and status, and Detailed Sales by Salesperson by salesperson. Your filters carry into the End of Day package, so the report you confirmed is the one that gets sent. Every report now states what it counts and which date it files it under, so you can tell why a sales total and a payment total differ. Clicking Back from an invoice returns you to the report you were on, with your filters intact.

  • New Drawer Detail report for reconciling your card terminal

Drawer Detail is a new report under Reports > Accounting that lists every payment one line at a time, with the invoice number, who took it, the card last four, and the authorization code. A payment split across two cards shows as separate lines, so you can match Manifold against your terminal batch when the totals disagree. Its total ties to the Drawer Summary for the same dates. Counter staff can run it without access to your other financial reports.

  • EFT payments now record and reconcile correctly

You can now take an EFT (bank transfer or ACH) payment on an invoice or a dealer account. It was previously only offered when receiving a payment on account, so shops running ACH had to book it as a check or a card. We also fixed the Drawer Summary, which was leaving EFT out of its total, meaning the drawer never tied out for anyone using it.

  • Dealer payment terms: pay by a set day of the following month

Wholesale dealers can now be set to pay on a fixed calendar day of the month after an invoice is issued (Net 10th, 15th, 20th, or 25th), in addition to the existing Net 15 to Net 90 day-count terms. This matches how many car dealers pay: under Net 20th, any invoice created in June is due July 20th. When you take an on-account payment on a dealer invoice, the due date now fills in automatically from that dealer's terms.

  • Cleaner customer data when importing from TSS

The Data Import preview now reviews your customer list before anything is saved. Manifold detects when names were entered last name first and offers to import them in the right order, keeping the original on file, and it groups empty, junk, and placeholder records (like Cash or Estimate) so you can skip them in one step while keeping any you want. The Brands and Vendors pickers also gained an In stock shortcut that selects only the ones you currently carry stock for.

  • An update to collecting on accounts receivable

You can now take a payment against a customer's account from one place. Open Accounts Receivable, click Receive on a customer, and apply the money across their open invoices: pay one in full, take a partial payment, or split a single payment across several invoices and payment methods, oldest invoices first. Any overpayment becomes store credit, which is now a real balance you can see on the customer and spend on future purchases. Owners and managers can also write off an uncollectable balance.

  • Bring your data over from TSS

Switching to Manifold from TSS? You can now bring your own data over from Settings under General, in the new Data Import section. Upload your TSS backup, preview what was found, and choose how much history plus which brands and vendors to import before anything is saved. When it finishes, a Data Migration Summary reconciles the results so you can confirm everything came across.

  • Filter products by type: bulk or standard

The Products list now has a Type filter. Choose Bulk Only to see just your measured products (wire by the foot, deadening by the square foot, and other bulk items), or Standard Only for the rest. It works alongside the existing search, category, vendor, and stock filters.

  • End of Day reports and Favorites now remember your filters

Now when you add a report to End of Day or favorite it, the filters you have set are saved with it. Favorites reopen that exact view, and the same report can go into End of Day more than once with different filters. Presets like "Yesterday" roll forward automatically each night. The End of Day package is now shared across your whole shop; reorder, rename, or remove reports under Settings > End of Day Reports.

  • Click column headers to sort any list

Every list page (invoices, customers, products, work orders, accounts receivable, and more) now lets you sort by clicking a column header: click once for ascending, again for descending. Long lists also use compact page navigation now instead of a long row of page numbers.

  • Work orders now show on the customer record

A customer's work orders now appear in their own section on the customer's profile, showing the work order number, status, technician, linked invoice, and date. A quick way to see a customer's full service history alongside their invoices and vehicles.

  • Assign inbox conversations to a team member

You can now assign any conversation in the Communications inbox to a specific employee. Assigned conversations show up under that person's "Mine" tab, notify them when assigned, and route that customer's future messages straight to them, while unassigned conversations still alert the whole team.

  • VIN Lookup for Wholesale

Wholesale shops can now look up a vehicle by VIN and see its complete service history at your shop: owners, every invoice, every work order, appointments, and installed serialized parts, aggregated across every owner the vehicle has had. Find it under Wholesale, then VIN Lookup.

  • Barcode scanning no longer closes the product form

Scanning a barcode directly into the Barcode (UPC) field on an inventory product now fills the value in and stays on the form, instead of saving and jumping back to the product list. You can scan and keep editing without losing your place.

  • Redesigned in-app Help Center

The Help & Documentation page is now a searchable knowledge base. Browse articles from a category sidebar, jump to any topic instantly with the new search box, and read one article at a time in a clean, properly formatted layout with real headings and lists. The "Print Manual" button still produces the complete printed guide.

  • Customer-friendly line names on invoices

A new optional Invoice Display Name on products replaces the vendor SKU on customer-facing invoices, estimates, and printed work orders - so the customer sees "8-Gauge Power Wire" instead of "8G-BLK-250". Search finds products by either name everywhere.

  • Sell by the foot: bulk inventory

Products can now be set up as bulk/measured - buy a 500-ft spool, sell by the foot (or square foot for sheet goods). Purchase orders and receiving work in whole spools with automatic per-foot costing, invoices and estimates sell in whole units, technicians can log materials used right from the mobile bay, and physical counts, low-stock alerts, and the Restock Assistant all understand bulk units.

June 2026

  • Make labor non-taxable

Some states don't tax labor. You can now turn off sales tax on labor with a single setting: go to Settings, open the Invoicing card, and uncheck "Labor is taxable." Once it's off, every labor line is treated as non-taxable on new and edited invoices and estimates, while parts and products are still taxed normally. Already-posted invoices are left as they are.
