Customers by Referral Source breaks down your unique customer count by how each customer first found you. Use it to see which marketing channels are bringing in actual new people, not just repeat business.

Go to Reports > Customers > Customers by Referral Source.

Summary cards: Referral Sources (count of unique sources) and Total Customers. Below that, a pie chart of the top 10 sources, then a table with three columns: Referral Source, Customers, and % of Total.

Pick a period at the top: This Month, Last 30 Days, Last 90 Days, Last Year, or Lifetime. Lifetime ignores the date filter and counts every customer ever attributed to a source.

Use this report to

  • See which marketing channels actually bring you new customers
  • Compare lifetime customer mix against a recent window to spot trends
  • Confirm a campaign is driving new customers (not just repeat visits from existing ones)
  • Decide where to spend marketing budget next

How a referral source gets attributed: each customer's source is taken from the referral source set on their first invoice. So a customer who came in once from a Facebook ad and has been coming back for years still counts as a Facebook customer here.
