Every exchange you have with Ask Manifold is kept as a conversation, and you can go back to any of them. Conversations are yours alone: nobody else on your team sees your list, and you do not see theirs. (Owners and store managers can still review every message under Settings > AI Chat Logs.)

Opening the list

Click the clock icon in the panel header. A list slides over the chat showing each conversation by title and when it was last used. Click one to reopen it. The assistant remembers what was said there, so you can pick up where you left off, even weeks later. The conversation you are in now is highlighted.

Starting a new conversation

Click the plus icon in the header, or New chat at the top of the list. Nothing is created until you send your first message, so opening New chat and changing your mind leaves no empty conversation behind.

When a new conversation starts on its own

If your last conversation was used within the past day, the panel opens on it, so a follow-up after lunch lands in the same place as the morning's question. After a day of quiet the panel opens fresh instead, so an old topic does not color a new question. The older conversation is not gone: it is in the list, and picking it puts you right back in it.

Titles

A conversation gets a short title on its own after the first exchange, for example "Overdue invoices this month". Until then the list shows the first thing you asked. To change a title, hover over the conversation in the list and click the pencil, type the new name, and press Enter. A title you write yourself is never replaced.

Pinning

Hover over a conversation and click the pin to keep it at the top of the list, above everything else. Pin as many as you like; the most recently pinned sits first. This is handy for something you look up often: reopen the pinned conversation and the answer is already there, and you can ask a follow-up without starting over. Click the pin again to unpin.

Archiving

To take a conversation off your list, hover over it and click the archive icon, or use the trash icon in the panel header to archive the one you are in. Archiving removes it from your list and, if it was the open one, starts a new conversation. Nothing is deleted: the messages remain in Settings > AI Chat Logs.

Worth knowing

  • The thumbs-up and thumbs-down you gave an answer stay with it when you reopen a conversation.
  • On the day this feature arrived, your earlier messages were sorted into conversations automatically. Messages more than an hour apart were treated as separate conversations, so you may see several short ones from before.
  • The Conversations list is on the desktop panel. The mobile app does not have it yet.
