Every staff member needs their own user account in 1sixty8 Manifold. Each account drives time tracking, sales attribution, permission gating, and the audit log.
Go to Employees > Employee List. The page header shows four stat cards (Total Employees, Active, Inactive, Locked) above the Employee Directory table.
To add a new employee
- Click + Add Employee at the top right.
- Fill in First Name, Last Name, Username (used at sign-in), Email (required), and Phone (optional).
- Nickname (optional): a short name your team uses when texting the store to send a bell notification to just this person. Must be unique per store.
- Password: set an initial password the employee will use on first sign-in. They can change it later under Account > Profile.
- Pick a Role: Store Manager, Office Manager, Sales Manager, Installation Manager, Salesperson, Installer, or Custom. Only an owner can assign the Owner role, so it appears in this list only when an owner is adding the employee. The role sets where this employee's permissions start (see the article on Understanding Role Templates). It is not a ceiling: if someone does two jobs, pick the closer role and then switch on the extra abilities from their permission sheet.
- Set Status to Active so the employee can sign in.
- If your shop has more than one location, check the boxes for the locations this employee can work from and pick one as their Default.
- Click Save. The employee can sign in with their username (or email) and password.
First sign-in: have the employee sign in once on their own device, change their password, and set their Quick-switch PIN under Account > Profile if your shop uses trusted terminals.
To change what an employee can see and do beyond the role defaults, use the Permissions button on their row in the Employee List, or open Managers > Permissions and click into their permission sheet. Both are owner-only. See the article on managing user permissions.
To edit, deactivate, or lock an existing employee, see the article on editing, deactivating, and locking employees.
