When stock counts drift away from reality (received from a vendor, damaged in transit, found during a count, etc.), adjust them from the product detail page.
Go to Inventory > Stock Levels to find the product you want to adjust, then click the product name to open its detail page.
The Adjust Stock panel sits near the bottom of the product page. (You will only see it if your role has the inventory.adjust_quantities permission and the product is not serialized; see below.) The panel has four controls in a single row:
- Location: required dropdown of every location where this product has stock on hand. Pick the location you are adjusting.
- Quantity (+/-): signed change, not the new total. Type +5 to add five units, or -2 to remove two. The placeholder reads "+/- qty".
- Reason: short free-text label (Received, Sold, Damaged, Returned, Count Correction, whatever fits). Required.
- Adjust button: submits the change.
The page reloads with the new stock count reflected in the totals at the top, and a row added to the Recent Adjustments history immediately below the panel. That history shows the last twenty changes with date, location, the signed change in green or red, the reason (clickable to the source PO if the change came from receiving a purchase order), and who made the change. The full audit trail is retained beyond those twenty rows for reporting.
Serialized products: the Adjust Stock panel is hidden when a product has serialized tracking enabled. Add or remove serialized stock by managing the serial numbers directly (see the article on tracking serialized products). The serial system is the source of truth for quantity on a serialized product.
