Estimates (quotes) work the same as invoices but don't affect financials until you create an invoice from them.
Go to Point of Sale > Estimates in the sidebar, then click "+ New Estimate".
Add line items, customer, and vehicle just like a regular invoice. The estimate can be:
- Printed or emailed to the customer
- Turned into a sale when the customer approves: click "Create Invoice" on the estimate detail page, or on the estimate's row in the Estimates list
Creating an invoice does not replace the estimate. Manifold creates a new invoice with its own number, copies the line items across, and keeps the estimate on file marked Won with a link to the invoice. The invoice links back to the estimate the same way, so you can always see what was quoted next to what was billed.
Estimates have their own number sequence (e.g. EST-0001).
