The file your vendor sent is the only record of what they actually published. Manifold keeps it, offers it back to you, and then files it in your own cloud storage so it is somewhere you control.
Open any sheet from Inventory, Vendor Price Sheets. The section called The File This Came From is where all of this lives.
**Downloading it**
While the file is on the server there is a download button, named the way the file will be filed, for example Hertz_010426.csv. That is the brand, then the date of the import. What you download is exactly what you uploaded, not a version Manifold has rewritten.
**It is kept for 30 days**
The section counts down and tells you how many days are left. Thirty days is long enough to answer "where did this price come from" while the import is still fresh, without every price book any vendor has ever sent sitting on the server forever.
**What happens on day 30**
If you have connected Dropbox or Google Drive for backups, the file is uploaded there and the copy on the server is removed. It goes into your backup folder, under Price Sheets, in a folder named for the vendor:
Price Sheets / Hertz Audio / Hertz_010426.csv
The section then tells you it has moved and gives you the exact path to look for. Two sheets from the same brand on the same day do not overwrite each other.
If you have no cloud storage connected, the file is deleted on day 30 and cannot be recovered. The screen says so from the day you upload it, so it is never a surprise. Connecting Dropbox or Google Drive under Settings, Backups is what turns that deletion into an archive, and it needs an owner or a store manager to set up.
Nothing else is affected either way. Everything the sheet contained, every row, every correction you made and the record of what the import changed, stays in Manifold and the undo keeps working.
**If an upload fails**
Manifold never deletes your copy because it could not upload it. If your cloud storage refuses the file, for example because the connection needs reauthorising, the sheet says what went wrong, keeps the file, and tries again the following night.
**A sheet you never imported**
If you uploaded a sheet and abandoned it, its file is removed after 30 days and nothing is uploaded. There was no price change to keep a record of.
**Permissions**
Downloading the file needs permission to view costs. A vendor price sheet is their cost on every part they sell, so it is treated like any other cost in Manifold.
