Schedulable resources (Bays and Salespeople on Settings, Scheduling) use a deactivate model rather than a hard delete. This keeps your scheduling history intact when a resource is no longer in service.
To deactivate a resource
- Open Settings, Scheduling.
- Find the resource in the list.
- Click Deactivate on its row.
After deactivation, the resource
- Stops appearing as a column on the calendar.
- Stops being selectable when creating a new appointment.
- Stays linked to all of its existing appointments, so historical reports, customer history, and past calendar views remain accurate.
The resource moves to a Deactivated section at the bottom of the list. If you change your mind, click Restore to bring it back. Restored resources reappear as calendar columns immediately and become bookable again.
This is by design: a permanent delete option is not offered, because deleting a resource that has linked appointments would either orphan those appointments or rewrite history. Deactivation gives you a clean way to retire a Bay or Salesperson without either.
If you renamed or replaced a resource and want the calendar to reflect the change, just leave the old one deactivated and create the new one. Both can coexist, with new bookings flowing to the new resource and the old one preserved for the record.
