The Mobile Bay app is a streamlined view of work orders designed for technicians on a phone or tablet at the bay. It uses the same login as the desktop POS but with a quick-unlock PIN.

Open 1sixty8 Manifold on your phone and tap "Check-In/Out" on the launcher.

To pull up a work order, you can

  • Tap the "Scan WO or VIN" button and scan the printed work order barcode or VIN
  • Tap "Can't scan? Enter manually" and type the WO number or VIN

The banner at the top shows the customer, the vehicle and its VIN. If the vehicle has no VIN on file, an "Add VIN" button appears there instead, which lets you photograph the VIN plate and fill the vehicle in from it (see Photograph a VIN to Fill In a Vehicle).

The work order opens to a tabbed view. The tabs depend on your shop's Bay Mode setting (see How to Configure Work Order Settings):

  • Basic mode: Check-In and Check-Out
  • Advanced mode: Check-In, Work, and Check-Out

Each tab shows

  • Pass/Fail/N/A buttons for every checklist item
  • The photo upload area
  • A clock-in/clock-out toggle
  • One or more action buttons at the bottom to advance or close out the work order, labeled for what they do (for example, a "Vehicle Out" close button on the Check-Out tab in Basic mode, or QC pass and QC fail buttons in the Check-Out tab of Advanced mode)

If your shop has Customer Signatures turned on at Check-In or Check-Out (Settings > Work Orders), a signature pad appears in the corresponding tab. Hand the phone to the customer, have them sign with their finger, and tap "Confirm".

If a stage is already locked (for example Check-In after the vehicle has moved to In Progress), a "Request edit" button appears at the bottom of that tab. Tap it, give a reason, and a notification goes to your managers. The request does not unlock anything by itself: the stage stays locked while a manager reviews it, and only one request can be open on a work order at a time. When a manager approves it you are notified, and any customer signature already collected for that stage is cleared so it gets signed again. To actually reopen the stage, a manager moves the work order back a step on the desktop (Closed back to QC, QC back to In Progress, In Progress back to Check-In). A closed work order cannot be reopened once its invoice has been paid or posted.

If a work order has been cancelled, the Mobile Bay app will not open it for work at all. Scanning it or entering its number shows a read-only summary saying it was cancelled, with the date and reason, instead of the check-in screen. A manager reopens it from the desktop if the job is back on. If your shop has turned edit requests off under Settings > Work Orders, the button does not appear.
