The Week view shows you a whole week of work on one screen: what is booked, who it is for, and which bays are still free.
Open Service > Installation Calendar (or Customer Management > Consultation Calendar), then click Week in the Day / Week / Month switcher at the top right, next to the arrows. The calendar remembers your choice, so it opens in Week next time.
How it is laid out
Each bay gets its own row and each day of the week gets a column. Every job in the grid shows its work order number and customer on the first line, and its time and vehicle on the second. If the job's invoice has a job description, such as "Remote start install", it shows on a third line, so you can see what each job is without opening it. A long description is cut short to keep the week compact; hover over the job to read all of it. See "Adding a Job Description to an Invoice" for how to add one. The colored stripe down the left of each entry is the job's status, the same colors used everywhere else on the calendar.
Reading it at a glance
- A row that is full across the week is a bay that is booked solid.
- An empty cell is that bay free on that day. This is the fastest way to answer "can I fit this job in on Thursday?".
- A bay with no work all week shows as an empty row, so spare capacity is easy to spot.
- Days your shop is closed are shaded, but work booked on them still shows.
A job that runs across several days appears on each day it touches, with an arrow showing that it carries on. The first day reads something like "12p" with an arrow, the middle days read "all day (cont.)", and the last day shows when it finishes.
What the Week view does not do
Booking happens on the Day view, because that is where the time slots are. Clicking a day heading or an empty cell in the Week view takes you straight to that day so you can book there. Dragging an appointment to move it also belongs to the Day view.
Jobs on other resources
If you are on the Installations or Consultations tab and a job is booked against the other kind of resource, it is collected into an "Other" row at the bottom rather than dropped. That row only appears when there is something in it. It usually means an appointment is on the wrong kind of resource; open it and reassign it if so.
Entries that only say "Installation"
An appointment with no customer, vehicle or work order attached has nothing to name it, so it shows as just "Installation" or "Consultation" in grey italics and sits quietly behind the real work. Shops that imported their history from another system often have a few of these. If one is meant to be a real job rather than held time, open it and attach the customer and vehicle.
