When you create a schedulable resource on Settings, Scheduling, you pick a Type: Bay or Salesperson. Once the resource exists, the Type is locked. You can rename the resource, change its color, or deactivate it, but you cannot edit the Type from Bay to Salesperson or vice versa.

The Type field shows up as read-only in the edit form, with a short note pointing to the right workaround: deactivate the existing resource and create a new one of the correct type.

The reason is that historical appointments stay linked to the resource that booked them. If a Bay's three months of completed appointments suddenly became Salesperson appointments, your reports and history would be wrong, and the appointments would show up in the wrong calendar tab. Locking the Type at creation keeps the past honest.

If you need to "convert" a resource

  1. Open Settings, Scheduling.
  2. Deactivate the resource. Its past appointments stay visible, but it stops appearing as a column on the calendar and stops being selectable for new bookings.
  3. Create a new resource with the desired Type and name.

Going forward, all new bookings land on the new resource. The old one stays in place as a record of the work that ran through it.
