Every task has a built-in activity stream where you and your teammates can leave comments and react with emoji. Comments are how you ask a question, share context, or note what you found without leaving the task.
Open any task by clicking its row on the Tasks page. The slide-over opens to the detail view with the activity stream.
To post a comment
- Type into the "Add a comment…" box at the bottom of the slide-over.
- To attach a photo or document, click the paperclip icon next to the box and pick a file. The filename appears below the composer while it is queued. One attachment per comment.
- Click Post, or press Cmd+Enter (Mac) or Ctrl+Enter (Windows) to post without leaving the keyboard.
Comments are permanent once posted: there is no edit or delete on the task side. (This is different from chat messages in the chat panel, which can be edited within 15 minutes of sending.)
To react to a comment
- Hover over the comment (or tap it on mobile). A small smiley face button appears in the top-right corner of the comment.
- Click it to open the quick-pick picker, which offers 👍, ❤️, 😂, 😮, ❗, and ❓.
- Pick an emoji. Your reaction appears as a pill below the comment with a count of everyone who has reacted that way.
Click a pill again to remove your own reaction. Pills you have reacted to are highlighted with a purple background so you can see at a glance which ones include you.
Only real comments are reactable. System events in the stream (created, status changed, priority changed, due-date updated, assignee changed) do not have a react button. They are kept as a clean audit trail.
