Pinning a message

Owners, store managers, and sales managers can pin important messages so the whole team sees them at the top of a channel. Other roles can read pins but cannot add or remove them.

To pin a message

  1. Open the channel or DM in the chat panel.
  2. Hover (or tap, on mobile) over the message until the small action row appears in the top-right of the message.
  3. Click the 📌 pin icon. The message is added to the channel's pin list right away.

Pinned messages collapse into a "📌 N pinned" summary at the top of the thread. Click the summary to expand the full list. Each pin shows the message text (or "(attachment)" if it was a file). Managers can click "Unpin" next to any pin to remove it.

A channel can hold up to 5 pins. If a sixth message is pinned, the oldest pin is released automatically. System notes appear in the message stream when pins are added or removed so the team can see the change.

Searching messages

Anyone with access to chat can search across their own conversations. To run a search:

  1. Click the magnifying-glass icon in the chat panel header (top-right area, next to the close button).
  2. A search bar slides in below the header.
  3. Type at least two characters. Results appear as you type, debounced so the request only fires after you pause.

Each result shows where the message was sent (Shop or DM), who sent it, when, and a snippet of the matching text. If a file attachment matched on its filename, you will see a 📎 icon and the filename instead of message text. Click any result to jump straight to that conversation.

Search covers all the channels and DMs you can see.
