You can react to a chat message with an emoji from a quick-pick set. Reactions are a lightweight way to acknowledge a message ("got it", "agreed", "huh?") without typing a reply.

To react

  1. Open the conversation in the chat panel.
  2. Hover over the message (or tap it on mobile) until the small action row appears in the top-right of the message bubble.
  3. Click the smiley face button (😀). A picker pops up with six options: 👍, ❤️, 😂, 😮, ❗, and ❓.
  4. Click an emoji. The picker closes and your reaction appears as a small pill below the message, showing the emoji and a count of everyone who reacted that way.

Click an existing reaction pill to toggle: if you already reacted with that emoji, your reaction is removed; if you have not, you join the count. Pills you have reacted to are highlighted with a darker style so you can see at a glance which ones include you. Hover over a pill to see the names of everyone who reacted with that emoji.

A few things to know

  • Reactions work on the Shop channel and on direct messages.
  • Announcements are read-only; you cannot react to them.
  • System notes in the stream (someone joined the shop, a message was pinned or unpinned) are not reactable.
  • You can react to your own messages too. There is no self-react restriction.
