If you run more than one store, a customer who has been to one of your stores can be found from any of them. There is nothing to set up: it works once 1sixty8 has set your stores up as one company.

Finding a customer from another store

Search for a customer the usual way on a new invoice or estimate, a new work order, Book Appointment, or the Customers list. Under this store's matches, an At other stores section lists matching customers at your other stores, with the store's name, their phone or email, their city and their vehicle. Search by name, email, or at least four digits of a phone number.

Someone who is already a customer here, matched by phone or email, is not listed again from another store; use this store's record.

Picking one copies them here

Pick a customer from At other stores (on the Customers list results, click Add to this store) and they are copied to this store and used straight away, as if you had picked them from your own list. The copy brings:

  • Name, phone numbers, email, address, birthday and anniversary.
  • Their vehicles.

It does not bring notes, balances, history, lifetime spend, pipeline stage, or texting consent: a customer agrees to texts from one store's number, so ask again here. Two things are pointed out when you pick them:

  • If they are tax exempt at the other store, you are told, so you can check their certificate before marking them exempt here.
  • If they have store credit at the other store, you are told how much. It can be spent here; see Gift Cards and Store Credit at Any of Your Stores.

The copies stay in step

From then on the two records are linked. A change to the name, phone numbers, email, address, birthday or anniversary at either store reaches the other within a minute, and the later change wins. Vehicles, notes and everything else stay with each store after the copy.

Texting opt-outs apply everywhere

If a customer replies STOP to any of your stores, none of your stores will text that number. This applies to every number, whether or not the customer has been copied between stores.

Phone searches

Customer searches find a phone number however it is typed: 7575551234 finds a customer saved as (757) 555-1234.
