An owner can cancel a store from Settings. Scroll to the bottom of the Settings page and click Cancel Account in the Danger zone. Only owners see it.
Cancelling applies to one store at a time. If your business has several stores, each one is cancelled separately, and cancelling one does not affect the others; your bill goes down by one store.
The Cancel Account page walks through four steps
- Why you are leaving. Optional; it helps us.
- Take your data with you. A link to Settings > Data Export, where you can download a complete copy of your data first.
- What happens. The date the cancellation takes effect and what stops.
- Confirm. Type your store code and enter your password, then click the Cancel button with your store's name on it.
When it takes effect: at the end of the period you have already paid for (your current month, quarter or year), and the store is not billed again. Until then everything keeps working as usual. If there is no paid time left, the cancellation takes effect right away.
If your account is past due (read-only), you can still cancel. It takes effect right away, and the unpaid balance is still owed. See the article on what happens when your subscription payment doesn't go through.
Changed your mind? Until the cancellation takes effect, any owner can keep the account from the Cancel Account page (Settings shows the scheduled date and a "Review or keep my account" button). After it takes effect, contact us within 30 days and we can restore everything.
After the cancellation takes effect
- Only owners can sign in, and only to Settings > Data Export, for 30 days. Everyone else is signed out and cannot sign in.
- Texts, emails, reminders and review requests stop, and links already sent to customers (invoices, estimates, reviews, pay links) stop working.
- Manifold Pay terminals and pay links stop working with 1sixty8 Manifold. Your merchant account with the payment processor is separate; contact them to close it.
- Owners get an email when the cancellation takes effect, and a reminder 7 days before the 30 days end.
- After 30 days, the store's data is permanently deleted. A final backup is kept for no more than 60 days after the cancellation, as our Privacy Policy describes, and then deleted too.
Every owner of the store, and 1sixty8, is emailed when a cancellation is requested or withdrawn, and both appear in the Security audit log.
