The Installation Calendar can show a single installer's jobs and nothing else. Use it to see what one tech has on today, to hand an installer their day, or to check who still needs work assigned.
- Open Service > Installation Calendar (or Scheduling with the All or Installations tab selected).
- Open the installer menu at the top of the calendar, next to the All / Installations / Consultations tabs. It starts on All installers.
- Pick a name. The calendar shows only the installations that person is on, in the Day, Week and Month views. Bays where they have nothing are hidden, so you see only their work.
A line above the calendar says whose jobs you are looking at. Click Show all installers there, or pick All installers in the menu, to go back to the whole shop.
Who counts as the installer
The calendar books jobs into bays, not people, so the installer comes from the job's work order: whoever is on that work order's technician list. A job with two or more technicians shows on each of their schedules. To put someone on a job, add them to the work order; the calendar follows.
The menu lists your installers and installation managers, plus anyone else who has ever been on a work order, such as an owner who installs.
Unassigned
The last choice in the menu, Unassigned, shows installations that nobody is on yet. That includes jobs booked straight from an invoice before a work order existed, and older appointments brought over from a previous system. Use it as a to-do list for assigning work: open each job, go to its work order, and add the technician.
Things to know
- The filter stays put as you move between days, switch Day, Week and Month, or open an appointment and come back to the schedule. The address bar carries it too, so a link you copy opens on the same installer.
- Everyone opens the calendar on All installers, installers included.
- You can still book by clicking an empty slot while the calendar is filtered, but a new booking only appears on that installer's schedule once they are on its work order.
- The menu does not appear on the Consultations tab, since consultations are not installation work, or while you are scheduling or rescheduling a job, which needs every bay in view.
- If the installer has nothing on the day or week you are looking at, the calendar says so instead of showing empty bays.
- When your shop keeps tech schedules, the hours the installer is not working, including approved time off, are shaded (see "How to Set Up Tech Schedules"). A bay linked to a tech is shaded the same way without the filter.
