When catalog sync is on and a store takes some changes by approval (see Keeping Your Stores' Catalogs in Step), those changes wait on that store's Inventory Review until someone decides on them. Go to Point of Sale > Inventory Review and open the Changes from Other Stores tab. The sidebar count includes changes waiting.
Each change shows the product, package or category; what it is now; what the other store changed it to; which store made the change; and who made it. Changes that came in together, such as a whole price sheet updated at another store, are grouped so you can take them in one go. Use the buttons at the top (All, Prices and cost, Min/max, Details) to show one kind at a time.
- Approve takes the other store's value here.
- Reject keeps this store's value. Nothing is sent back to the other store.
- Tick several rows, or use a group's buttons, to approve or reject them all at once.
If another change to the same field arrives before you decide, the newer one replaces it and says what it replaced. If someone at this store edits the field themselves, that edit counts and the waiting change is set aside.
A package's line change shows its line count and total before and after, for example "3 lines, $94.97" to "3 lines, $104.97". Click the package to see its lines.
Who can approve
Approving needs the "Approve changes from other stores" permission, in the Inventory group at Managers > Permissions. Owners and store managers have it by default. Anyone else can see what is waiting but not decide on it.
The Off-Catalog Items tab is the same page's other half; see Resolving Off-Catalog Items and Ordering Them In.
