When your shop has tech schedules turned on (see "How to Set Up Tech Schedules"), techs ask for time off and a manager approves it. Only approved time off changes the schedule.
Asking for time off
On a computer, click your name at the top right and choose My Time Off. On the phone, tap the Time Off tile on the launcher. Then fill in:
- What for: Vacation, Sick, In late, Leaving early, Personal or Other.
- Whole days, with a First day and Last day, or untick Whole days to give a day and a From and To time (for example, in late from 8:00 to 10:00).
- A note. It is optional, except for Other.
Click Send request. Your managers get a notification, and you are told when it is approved or declined. Your requests and their status are listed underneath, and you can cancel one there. My Time Off also shows your weekly hours.
If the page says you're not on the tech schedule, ask a manager to add you.
Approving time off
Managers open Team Hub > Tech Schedules. Requests are listed under "Waiting for approval". Add a note if you like, then click Approve or Decline. The tech is told either way. Nobody but the owner can approve their own request: another manager or the owner has to.
Entering time off for someone
Under Add time off on the same page, pick who and fill in the same fields. Time off a manager adds is approved at once, and the tech is told. Approved time off still to come is listed under "Coming up", where a manager can cancel it.
What approved time off does
- The calendar's "techs working" line names who is off and why.
- Find a time does not offer that tech during their time off.
- A bay linked to that tech is shaded on the calendar, and booking it during their time off asks first.
- The late alert waits for the new start: "In late until 10" is due at 10.
Time off is never deleted. Cancelled and declined requests stay on record.
